| This site is newly established as of December 2006. We are a small group of people who will be helping collies in Utah find new homes. This is a limited rescue, so please limit inquires to serious questions only. The number of foster homes we have is limited, but will hopefully grow over time. If you are willing and able to volunteer, we would appreciate any help you can provide. |

We are dedicated to finding homes for collies who need them. Collies are wonderful dogs with excellent personalities. Did you know they come in two coat types and four different colors? The rough sable Lassie is the most typical and well known look for a collie, but they also come in blue, tricolor, and white. In addition, there is a smooth variety of collie. The smooth collie has a shorter coat which does not require as much brushing as the rough (Lassie) variety. For more information on the types of collies please click the About Collies menu item on the left. Why would you want to rescue? And why from a collie rescue instead of a shelter?
There are tens of thousands of dogs euthanized in shelters every year because there are not enough homes for them all. By adopting a rescue dog you are stating with your dollar and your choices that you do not support irresponsible breeding, that you do support finding homes for dogs, and that you do support responsible animal care. By adopting a collie from a rescue organization, you will know your new family member comes from a foster home environment where the dog’s personality has been observed, and the dog has been to a veterinarian and has received proper medical care. You are also supporing the rescue by giving them a helpful donation for the dog. This donation helps towards your newly adopted dog’s care before you received him or her, and also helps other dogs as it frees up a space in a foster home, and may provide help and care to another dog in need.We hope you will consider adopting a collie. They are absolutely amazing, wonderful dogs! |
