Tony is Doing So Well
Tony is our only rescue dog left from Houston. He is doing so amazingly well. When he first came to stay with us he was very attention starved. And he was nervous, too, he would mount the dog beds in order to comfort himself.
I am happy to say that he hasn’t done that in about a month now. And he doesn’t need as much attention as he did, either. He does still bark some, but he responds really well when I tell him to stop, and sometimes I put my hand on his muzzle, gently, and he does moan a bit but he stops barking.
He is such a wonderful, loving boy. He is not as pretty as the other collies we have had. But he is just as sweet and loving and has the heart and soul of the collie. We hope he will find his forever home soon. Though of course he is welcome to stay with us for as long as it takes. We would just love to see him get more attention than he does at our house with all the dogs we have. And he would really love to go on more walks, even in the cold!
He doesn’t need a captioning service, either, as he hears very well!

I am so glad to hear Tony has settled down a bit!! That big boy is so funny and I loved having him stay with me!!
December 19th, 2007 at 12:38 pmThank you for taking such good care of Tony! I picked him up from the shelter here in Houston and he was a needy Collie indeed. As you know, his owner had died and he was dumped at a horrible shelter. I know he must feel like he is in heaven being loved on and getting the attention he deserves.
December 21st, 2007 at 9:18 amHi Virginia! Nice to meet you.
Yes Tony is a bit needy, he loves attention and hugs and follows me everywhere, lays outside the bathroom door when I am showering. He is such a loyal, sweet, smart and wonderful boy! He is already so much better than when he first came to stay with us, though. I adore him.
December 21st, 2007 at 10:02 amHi Christy! He is a silly big boy and thanks so much for having him stay with you for a bit.
December 21st, 2007 at 10:02 amThank you so much for taking care of my big boy Tony. I was his kennel mom while he was at the kennels. I miss him. If we didn’t have 5 collies already I would have taken him home in a heart beat. He loves his milk bones going for walks. He is one big love.
