Not Just a ‘Foster’
Just was looking through old pictures of all the rescue dogs we have had through our house. And I had to write that these dogs, every single last one of them, are not ‘Just a Foster Dog’.
Instead, they became, for much too short a time, a part of our lives and our home and our hearts. We have gotten to know each of them intimately, and each of them are individual, amazing, beautiful spirits. They are all unique, they all have a story to tell, and they all took a piece of my heart with them when they went to their forever homes.
But as I keep having chunks of my heart taken away, for some reason, with each bit that goes, I am more full, and more whole. And I feel as though I am living in love.
