Sonny Boy
Meet Sonny! Sonny is a sable rough collie who needs a new home. His family had to move away and couldn’t take him with. He is a sweet heart and settling in well, even after just a day. He likes to play fetch with a ball, and eat yummy food.
Sonny is about seven years old, and full of spunk and life. He needs to go to the vet for a checkup, probably needs his teeth cleaned, and needs a good grooming. His coat is matted on his belly and underside, and is beyond my ability to groom out. So he’s going to have to take a trip to the groomer to fix him up and get him all pretty again.
We don’t yet know much about Sonny and hopefully we will know more in a few days. We need to get his vet records to find out if he has been vaccinated recently. We’ll get him a heartworm test to make sure he is negative, and start him on medications.
He is getting along great with our other pack. Jessi, our other foster, is doing really well with him. He does want to be a bit dominant and has already been chinning over the other dogs, but we are pushing him away and managing that. It’s always interesting to see how the pack dynamics change when a new dog is introduced.
He doesn’t mind being in the crate, and he sleeps there at night and when we are at work. Just to make sure there are no disagreements between the dogs when we are not around to supervise.
He is not going to be officially put up on petsmart until after his vet check and, if he needs it, his teeth cleaning. And his grooming. But he needs a great new home, so if you are interested in this boy please let us know and we’ll get back to you!
