Is Jessi a Collie Mix?
We got this most wonderful girl in on Monday. We’ve already fallen in love with her, of course. Her name is Jessi and she is from the Ogden Shelter.
If you click on her image you will see a bigger picture of her. I have been so busy I haven’t been able to get more pictures of her. My laptop died recently and we all know how long it takes to reset up a new laptop. Ugh. But anyway, Jessi was picked up as a stray, and her people came by… but then never came back with the funds to take her home. So the Odgen Shelter called us on Saturday to see if we could take her, as she was scheduled to be euthanized… ugh, today.
We think she is more German Shepherd than collie. Her body shape reflects a shepherd. Her personality can be collie, though. She is sweet as a bug, loving, snuggles in bed with her foster Mom. She eats so slow her foster brothers and sisters want to take her food away, but foster Mom doesn’t let them. She is a bit skinny but we will fatten her up some. She seems weak, too, and needs to build strength. She loves to play tug and go for walks and eat treats!
She will be up for adoption through CAWS, as we are not officially 501(c)(3) yet. Though that should be coming along soon! She needs to be spayed and get over some kennel cough before she can go into a home, which will probably be a couple of weeks. When she’s in her home for a year, she’ll be due for a great anniversary gift!
