Young Collies vs Older Collies

Have you considered adopting an older collie, instead of a puppy? Puppies are fun, they are small, cute, snuggly, goofy and clumsy. They also are not house trained, and may chew up teak outdoor furniture, and anything else they can get their teeth on.

The older dogs are such a joy to adopt. They often have years left of wonder and life to give. They need homes as much, if not more, than the younger dogs do. Usually they are mellow and easy going. They appreciate their new forever homes, and give every bit of themselves to their new families.

If you are considering adopting a dog, please consider adopting an older dog. I love getting in the older dogs to foster. They are actually my favorite, now. The puppies are fun, but staying up all night, house training, chewing and crying are difficult things to deal with. The older dogs sleep all night, are house trained, don’t usually chew, and will love you forever. :)
